Lafont eyewear embodies the heritage of the French lifestyle: the celebration of Parisian elegance and discreet luxury. Together with technical knowledge and the use of highest quality materials, the essence of Lafont shines through.
Lafont designs and produces its frames in France using rich acetates and pure metals.
“The Réédition Line” is Lafont’s vintage update of the models which brought Lafont success in the 70’s and 80’s, when haute couture designers got back to their original designs. Like car designers revising their 20 year-old sketches, Lafont reissues the Genie frame!
The Lafont Réédition line has become part of a major eyewear trend as demand for vintage styles have grown.
Far from the world of licensed brand names and mass-market products, Lafont frames have always been created by Laurence Lafont and the Lafont family for the past 80 years.
Laurence is the creative side of Lafont, and Philippe is the business side of Lafont. Almost never apart, their combined efforts are perfectly complimentary. They married in 1972. It was at this time when she started to design frames in the shop’s attic. Philippe, having just graduated from medical school, found an interest in frame design and worked with his wife on the Genie models, and then the Chat and Mai styles, which became Lafont’s best-sellers. The first large collection was launched in the mid-Eighties.
In the mid-nineties, Thomas, their oldest son, joined to help with the design of the men’s collection, as well as the Lafont boutique windows and trade show booths. In 2005, their second son Matthieu joined them to work on the marketing and communication.
For Laurence and Philippe Lafont, family is as important as their functions in the company.
